Swegreen Ranked Sweden’s Top FoodTech Company – Secures Place on Global FoodTech 500.
Swegreen has been ranked the highest-placed Swedish company in the global FoodTech 500 2025 ranking. The company climbs ten positions to reach place 73, reinforcing its standing as one of the leading players in next-generation sustainable food production.
The FoodTech 500, produced by research firm Forward Fooding, is regarded as the food sector’s equivalent of the Fortune 500 – but for FoodTech. The ranking identifies the most innovative and fastest-growing companies globally at the intersection of food, technology and sustainability, based on business data, growth indicators and sustainability performance.
This year’s list is drawn from over 1,200 companies across 87 countries and serves as an established reference point for investors, industry players and decision-makers tracking developments within the global AgriFoodTech segment.
“Being ranked the highest-placed Swedish company in the FoodTech 500 is a clear statement of strength. It demonstrates that our business model combines scalability with strong demand in a market undergoing structural change.” says Anders Eriksson, CEO of Swegreen.
Hyperlocal Production at the Intersection of FoodTech and Retail
Swegreen develops and operates systems for hyperlocal food production through in-store farming, where fresh crops are grown directly inside grocery stores, restaurants and hotels – entirely without pesticides. The model reduces logistics costs, food waste and climate impact while ensuring consistent, high product quality close to the consumer.
As part of the company’s continued expansion, Swegreen has also launched the concept of “the green bakery”, where cultivation and food production are integrated into the same business model. The initiative broadens the offering and positions the company at the intersection of FoodTech, retail and experience-driven consumption.
“We see a clear shift in the market towards decentralised and resource-efficient production. Our solution meets both commercial and regulatory requirements and has the potential to scale internationally as demand continues to grow.” says Anders Eriksson, CEO of Swegreen.
